5.28.19 my boat is nice!

Went out with Haley and Amanda today on a lovely 75 degree day with light South winds, that ended up making for some waves but it was still super nice. We caught 5 walleye, 4 keepers, all at 15ish feet. Also picked up some big drum, a huge crappie, and some white bass. White bass ate shallow and spawning so havn’t caught a lot of big ones from boat. We were using minnows and lindy rigs. People are still doing good from shore for walleye too.

Walleye 5.25.19

Went out in the boat today managed 9 walleye. Caught them from 9 to 17 however people at the cleaning station were jigging in 22 feet of water. They seem to be all over and are moving out of post spawn. Bite is still good though. Weather was nice, with a bit of wind, water temp 58 degrees.

Spring 2019 report

Spring started off strong then stalled for like ever but I think things are starting to normal out. Spawns are done but the bite is solid. Smelt have yet to spawn but should really soon.

Walleye are up shallow and biting strong on spinners, cranks, and plastics. I have done good with the plastic storm minnow and jig, and minnows on a floating jig from shore and boat.

Pike are also still cruising the shallows looking for food and the white bass are everywhere. Some bigger ones are starting to move in for spawn.

Temps have been low for awhile almost freezing at night and barely 50 during day. But we are warming finally and I believe that will make the smelt run soon.

Side note I have caught my 2 biggest walleye the last few weeks at 5 lbs each and I put rooke on a huge fish at 10 lbs. She was sitting in 14 ft of water on a cooler day in the evening.

2019 Paddlefishing

Well paddlefishing was short and sweet for me this season. Opened on a wednesday, I took Thursday off and caught a fish, then got sick and basically wasn’t ale to go out again till the season closed. But the one fish I did get was in the 60 lb range so that’s awesome! Hooked it at the confluence.

Spring summary

Ok so quick notes, ice off this year came the first of April basically for the muddy, and the 2ns week for this end of the lake. Fishing has been really good for walleye up until about now as it has been tapering off latley. I believe both walleye and pike are do e spawning on the muddy but walleye may still be on the lake.

Weather has been really nice and waterlevels are above average and really brown. Hope to get out on the lake in my boat tomorrow.

Here are a fee pics.

Ice fishing the muddy

Been ice fishing on the muddy the past few weeks just outside of scenic and have been catching loads of small pike on just tips ups and smelt. Mostly less than 5 lbs. Water was about 6 to 8 ft deep with close to 20 inches of ice.

Started January 22nd till post date

Ice ice baby

Finally got to ice fish so let’s dive into info.

Long Creek: I finally know how to fish that place. The old river channel runs just past the opening and you want to line up along it for walleye. Pike move into the 14 foot flats at the opening of the bay. Got some fish to boot!

Trenton: annoyingly slow. Talked to peeps who have been doing well, apparently I need to fish a plain hook and minnow on bobber just above bottom. Will try it later and find out.

Skunk Hollow: ice is not good at deep area and is shallow otherwise, so not really an option right now.

Tldr just getting going with ice fishing and more info will come with hopefully good pics.

Kota-ray: not me but people have got some really nice bass there lately and big gills, fishing the flats in the open part on edge of weed bed.
