4.18.20 Lunds

Finally open water!!! Ok lunds was half open, weather was low 50s, windy, and cloudy but the white bass were stacked in the culvert in like 3 feet if water. A few male pike were there as well, and I caught one at 10 lbs! Feasting on the white bass I think as I saw one attack one and the pike had what looked like one in its stomach. First real bit of warm weather though so the start of real spring.

4.10.2020 finally open water

Lake finally started opening up today so I got to fish a little. Outside edge of jetty was dead so went to lunds where there was still ice on lake but bay was mostly free. Ended up catching 5 makes fom 1 to 7 lbs on a storm minnow. Smelt was basically dead as were minnows oddly.

Lunds 2.15.20

Went out to Lunds to try and find some big pike that might be there this time of year. Ended up having a good day overall, with most of our fish coming during mid day, 2-3 ish. Got 2 walleye, 3 pike, and a eelpout! Fishing in 7-12 feet of water out on the west end of the bay near the opening with the submerged stumps. Seemed like a good spot, but only got 1 big pike at 12 lbs.

1.25.20 pike on muddy

Got on some pike at the muddy catching 12 total biggest being 6.5 and 5 lbs. This seems to be the best place to catch fish this time of year, the dead of winter. River recently rose, we were in 10 fow near the end of the road and the sky was blue and temps were almost 40 degrees. Caught fish from 12 till about 2:30, then a front started coming in eventually bringing snow and rain that shut off any bite. Good times!

Lunds 12/27/19

Tried Lunds landing again today for pike, I always feel like that little point by the marina should be so good in winter. I managed to catch 4 smaller pike, 3 being identical at 27 inches. Nothing too impressive, all came from 3-4 o’clock. Nice sunny blue sky day with no wind though.

Side note one pike had a small crappie in it, so kinda cool. No pics sadly.

Flyfishing carp

Went to core pumping station, water was flooding and muddy but there were schools of shallow carp so I went with the fly rod and did well with a purple dry Adams fly. Biggest was 9.5 lbs!

Cranking for eyes 5.31.19

Went out on my boat alone today and managed some fish. Water is darker than has been due to June rise staring, was super slow on lindys so switched to cranks and picked some nice fish up. Gold cranks was the color in about 13 to 14 ft at 2 to 2.5 mph
