4.18.20 Lunds

Finally open water!!! Ok lunds was half open, weather was low 50s, windy, and cloudy but the white bass were stacked in the culvert in like 3 feet if water. A few male pike were there as well, and I caught one at 10 lbs! Feasting on the white bass I think as I saw one attack one and the pike had what looked like one in its stomach. First real bit of warm weather though so the start of real spring.

5.28.19 my boat is nice!

Went out with Haley and Amanda today on a lovely 75 degree day with light South winds, that ended up making for some waves but it was still super nice. We caught 5 walleye, 4 keepers, all at 15ish feet. Also picked up some big drum, a huge crappie, and some white bass. White bass ate shallow and spawning so havn’t caught a lot of big ones from boat. We were using minnows and lindy rigs. People are still doing good from shore for walleye too.

Shore fishing 5.21.18

Went out shore fishing at lewis and Clark yesterday with Sam and did really well. We fished the point at lewis and Clark with slip bobber in about 3 feet of water topped with jig head and minnow. Water is high and muddy but fish were biting. Managed several white bass, a crappie, a catfish, and a super nice walleye that sam let go. 26.5 inch, 7 lb, fish! Crappie was spawned out already but may have just happened. Bass were not.

Double!

Went out fishing at Lunds today along the rocks hoping for some eyes, didn’t find any but as the wind shifted and came up we did find some frenzy feeding white bass and a great time was had. I even managed to get 2 on one rattletrap! They really like the silver with green top on Sakakawea. Some were really good size at 2 lbs and change.

Core pumping station!

Went out for the second time to the core pumping station just off the Muddy river. They seem to pump on week days till 6 pm. Lots of fish around a good clear water with max depth around 10 ft. I managed 2 pike, a white bass and shiner using jigs and soft plastics.  Need to try lindy spinner next time for eyes!

Update on spring

Went out yesterday, water temp were around 51 degrees, didn’t get any walleyes nd the general was a slow bite. Did get 2 white bass and they seemed active.  Tried on lake side of point in lewis and clark for crappie but no luck, might try shallows this weekend.

Went out a week ago from shore at Lewis and clark and did well, fish were holding in about 3 or 4 feet of water, and catfish were ravanous!

Lake has cleared enough!

I have been out to Lunds landing a few times in the past week and have managed to do well on walleye, pike, and white bass.  The water has finally cleared a bit and the fish are biting.  Lindys have been doing well in red, copper, and sometimes green in 9-14 ft of water.  Really need to move and target active fish on dropoffs.  Pike have been hitting raps and sometimes the spinners too.  Here is a few links to the videos of the trips!

Amazing Pike day

Went fishing at the state park on the point on the other side of the marina and slammed the pike. Was out from 12-4 and caught over 10 pike, keeping 9 with the largest being right at 7 lbs. The spawn seemed to be mostly over albeit two of the fish still had eggs. Also saw a few catfish and some small white bass. Was an awesome day of fishing with smelt and for big pike. Water level was pretty average.
